RITPhoto Begins the 50th Year on the Henrietta Campus

September 1968, the then new RIT campus opened in Henrietta after leaving its City campus. Pictured above and in the lower right is the Frank E Gannett Bldg connected to the James E Booth building. A lot can happen in fifty years and RITphoto is so excited to start another academic year.

Summer was quiet in the School.  The School sponsored a few workshops but the full-time students were all over the world and the building was eerily vacant. In spite of the quiet and hot, much important work was accomplished. We did miss seeing the smiles and energy of our talented  students and are delighted to see them in mass.

A brand new sidewalk and landscaping greatly improved the breezeway and was completed in August.

Shared above is the group photo from the 4th annual Digital Photography workshop

Pictured above is a group photograph of some of the 120 students who participated in the NYGears Up workshop. The day long workshop exposed the students to the broad field of photography.

Last week, classrooms eagerly awaited the arrival of the School’s largest entering class in more than a decade but Monday August 27th the parking lots were filled and the students filled up the campus.

Below are a number of snapshots taken around the School. The energy and excitement is back. Have a great year!
